India is regarded as a worthy travel destination and the country generates a lot of revenue from tourism. One place that particularly stands out is the Taj Mahal in Agra. It is considered as one of the seven wonders of the world and is extremely beautiful and well built. Built during the Mughal era, the Taj Mahal is not just another monument. It is a symbol of love and architectural brilliance.
About Taj Mahal
The Taj Mahal was built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz. The architectural body consisting of 20000 artisans was led by Ustad Ahmad Lahauri and it cost around 32 million rupees. The construction started in 1632 and culminated in 1643. The Taj Mahal forms part of a splendid 42-acre complex that consists of a mosque, guesthouse & lush green gardens. The main mausoleum and tomb consist of some really precious gemstones and sculptures. The Taj Mahal’s beauty is beyond one’s imagination and one simply cannot take one’s eyes off it. This is the reason it has been included in the Seven Wonders of the World.
